Meritorious Artist Hoa Ha hopes that her creative approach will shift
theatre-goers'' attention from lightweight comedies to the art of cai luong (reformed opera).
Dozens of veteran and young artists will perform in a variety of new
shows to celebrate the HCM City Theatre Association''s congress opening
late this month.
Cai luong (reformed opera) star Kim Tu Long is intensely focused on
attracting audiences back to theatres and having them learn about
historical events through the art.
Born in a poor farming family in An Giang Province, Nguyen Thi Luan
faced hard times for years before winning a gold medal at the Vong Co
(Nostalgic Tunes) Golden Bell Contest last week.
